CEDAR CREST COLLEGE TO INSTALL "STATES OF GRACE" PRAYER FLAGS FOR NEW ADMINISTRATION ON JANUARY 19

Allentown, PA (January 16, 2009)—Students and faculty members at Cedar Crest will install more than 130 prayer flags in an offering of good will and good intentions for the new federal government administration on Monday, January 19, at 3 p.m. The flags, which are crafted in the tradition of Tibetan peace flags but instilled with symbols and meaning important to their individual creators, will be installed along the fence at the Cedar Crest Boulevard entrance to campus. The Cedar Crest community will be joined by Jane Noel, local artist and mastermind of the project, which she has entitled, "States of Grace." The Cedar Crest community began making the flags in October.

The community project involves people throughout the Lehigh Valley—Allentown, Emmaus, Easton, Bethlehem, North Hampton, Foglesville. All of the flags throughout the valley will be installed for inauguration day on January 20 and displayed for a month.
