LOCAL NURSES TO BE HONORED BY GRADUATES AT CEDAR CREST COLLEGE
Nursing Program Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Special Brunch
Allentown, PA (June 12, 2008) – The Cedar Crest College Nursing Program, which marks its 30th anniversary of providing outstanding nursing education in the Lehigh Valley this year, will honor the local nurses that guide students through their clinical education with a garden party brunch on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton Boulevard Building.
More than 100 guests are expected to attend the preceptor brunch, underscoring the symbiotic relationship between the Lehigh Valley’s healthcare and educational systems’ efforts to advance the wellness of the community. The nursing program will mark its 30th anniversary by showcasing exemplary student work in the form of videos, posters and papers at the event, which is given on behalf of the student nurses graduating from Cedar Crest in August.
“Our students could not successfully complete their nursing education without the guidance and patient care opportunities that our Lehigh Valley nurses provide in the clinical setting,” says Dr. Laurie Murray, chair of the nursing program at Cedar Crest. “This special event is a chance for us to express our gratitude for their dedication and to recognize the achievements of our graduating class.”
