FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, CEDAR CREST STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE ORIGINAL WORKS

Allentown, PA (March 15, 2007) - Cedar Crest College will present its annual Student Dance Concert, featuring original choreography by student dancers, on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre, Tompkins College Center. The Student Dance Concert is FREE and open to the public.*

After a selective audition process, the Cedar Crest Dance faculty chose five pieces, mostly modern and contemporary dance styles, to make up the concert program.  Senior Aki Morimatsu will present an upbeat, physical piece inspired by Japanese culture and martial arts.  Another senior, Kristina Dennis, has created a piece that brings stories of Depression-era women to life.  The concert will mark the debut of choreography by sophomore Brittany Ankiewicz, while junior Alysse Falbo is showcasing two separate dance numbers.

In addition to choreographing their own dances, the students are also responsible for their own costume design and construction.  In addition, other performing arts students will design and control the lighting for the concert.

Admission to the Student Dance Concert is FREE.  For tickets or more information contact the Box Office at 610-606-4608.

*Please note that the date, time and admission have been changed since previous announcements about the concert were released.
