Allentown, PA (March 21, 2005) - The Cedar Crest College Cultural Programs Committee in conjunction with the Performing Arts Department will present a faculty voice recital with a performance by Judith Malis, soprano. The concert will take place on Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Harmon Hall of Peace and is free and open to the public.

Malis will perform works by Bach, Mozart, Strauss, Bellini, J. Rodrigo and others, and will be accompanied by Oxana Harlamoua.

Malis has performed extensively in Europe, Israel and the United States including opera roles, concerts and solo recitals. She has recorded on the W-House Label, performing the music of Carl Berky, “Songs of Childhood and Nostalgia.” She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Philadelphia Lyric Opera Award and was a competition winner from the Opera Company of Philadelphia.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Temple University College of Music, Philadelphia, and a master’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. Malis is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.

In addition to her teaching voice at Cedar Crest College, she maintains a private voice studio and teaches at the Settlement Music School and the Bryn Mawr Conservatory in Philadelphia.
