Allentown, PA (March 21, 2007) - The Lehigh Art Alliance (LAA) will hold its 72nd Spring Juried Exhibition in the Lachaise Gallery at Cedar Crest College from April 22, 2007 - June 9, 2007.  An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 29, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The LAA last exhibited at Cedar Crest in 1986 and has respectfully dedicated this exhibit to the late Dr. Dorothy Gulbenkian Blaney, former president of Cedar Crest College.

Jurors for the exhibition are:

Todd Stone (New York City) - Stone is a painter that works in oil and watercolors.  A graduate of the University of New Mexico, Stone has been a professional artist for more than 30 years and has received grants from NEA, Kittredge Educational Foundation and the Puffin Foundation.

Lucartha Kohler (Philadelphia, PA) - Kohler is a sculptor in glass and metals.  A professional artist for more than 45 years, Kohler has studied at Carnegie Mellon University and Moore College of Art, and currently teaches at the University of the Arts and Fleischer Art Memorial.

Founded in 1935 by Professor Garth Howland of Lehigh University, the LAA continues as an organization for amateur and professional artists in the Lehigh Valley, and as a cultural and educational entity for the people of the area.  The Alliance attempts to serve both the artist and the community equally.  Juried exhibitions give the artists an opportunity to display their works, and the appreciators of art an opportunity to view what those regional artists are producing.

The exhibition and opening reception are free and open to the public.  Works accepted into the show will be available for sale.  The Lachaise Gallery is located in the Harmon Hall of Peace at Cedar Crest College.  The gallery is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
