VARIETY OF DANCE STYLES SHOWCASE STUDENT TALENT AT SPRING DANCE CONCERT
Allentown, PA (March 31, 2006) - The Cedar Crest College Dance Company will present its annual Spring Dance Concert, featuring an array of dance styles including jazz, tap, ballet and modern, on April 28 and 29, 2006 in the Samuels Theatre of the Tompkins College Center.
"This concert is about letting the dancers explore the endless possibilities of dance and hone their techniques and skills in a performance setting," says Robin Gerchman, director of the dance program at Cedar Crest. "That's why the audience will see everything from a traditional Tarantella piece to a comical light theatrical number."
Other highlights of the program include a number that has dancers tapping out favorite nursery rhymes with their feet and a composition that incorporates stage-size elastic bands. Alumna Cate Mease returns again this year as a guest choreographer for one of the pieces.
In addition to performances choreographed by Cedar Crest’s experienced dance faculty, the program will include two student-choreographed dance pieces that were chosen by the faculty from the student dance concert, which took place earlier this year.
The Spring Dance Concert runs April 28th and 29th at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For more information, please contact the Box Office at 610-606-4608.
