LOCAL HEALTHY FOOD EXPERT TO GIVE WORKSHOP AT RODALE AQUATIC CENTER

Green Cuisine Guru to Present "Cooking for the Health of It"

Allentown, PA (May 26, 2006) – On Tuesday, June 6th at 11: 00 a.m., the Rodale Aquatic Center for Civic Health will offer a lecture by Janice Kay of Janice Kay's Green Cuisine that will focus on "Cooking for the Health of It." The lecture is free and open to the public.

During the lecture, Kay will demonstrate how to improve nutrition using healthy foods and cooking techniques, and how not to go broke doing it. Kay will prepare tangy no-cook soups using colorful and nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables. She will also provide tips and information about incorporating healthy food and techniques into everyday menu planning.

For more than three decades, Kay has contributed her knowledge, skills, and joy of cooking to individuals, restaurants, institutions, and the community. She has developed recipes at the Rodale Test Kitchen, for Prevention Magazine and has been the proprietor of Not Just Desserts Caterers for fourteen years. She trained with French chef Madeline Kamann and from 1995-1997 she taught nutrition and food preparation as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa. She received her bachelor of science in nutrition from Cedar Crest College in 2004.
