LOCAL STUDENTS HONORED WITH
U.S. PRESIDENT'S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS

Allentown, PA (May 6, 2004) - Seventeen local students at Cedar Crest College are the recipients of the U.S. President's Volunteer Service Award. The award is presented to students who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of community service within a 12-month time frame. Recipients receive a lapel pin, a personalized certificate and a note of congratulations from the President of the United States.

This award encourages a sustained commitment to civic participation and inspires others to make volunteering a central part of their lives. Over the past 4 years, Cedar Crest College has handed out 70 U.S. President's Volunteer Service Awards, which accounts for over 7,000 hours of service.
