Cedar Crest College Students Perform during "Winter Dances" Nov. 21

Allentown, PA (November 10, 2009)—Cedar Crest College presents, “Winter Dances,” featuring the choreography of dance faculty and students, on Saturday, November 21, at 8 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre of the Tompkins College Center. This concert blends the talents of the Student Dance Works, under the direction of Michelle Munno Jacobs, assistant professor of dance, and the Cedar Crest College Dance Company, under the direction of Robin Gerchman, director of dance.

The most ambitious portion of the program will be act II of the concert, titled “An Interdisciplinary Project.” Said Gerchman: “‘An Interdisciplinary Project’ presents a unique collaborative experience between the faculty choreographers and dancers. Each choreographer chose a course from another department that is being taught during the fall 2009 semester, and expressed the theme of the course through movement. Students experienced, first hand, a true liberal arts experience.”

“Winter Dances” is set for Saturday, November 21, at 8 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre of Tompkins College Center. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; and $5 for students with I.D. For more information contact the Box Office at 610-606-4608 or visit www.cedarcrest.edu/stage.
