NEW ALUMNAE MUSEUM EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS "THE FABULOUS LIFE OF." CEDAR CREST ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Allentown, PA (November 16, 2007) - The Cedar Crest College Alumnae Museum will examine the progression of a number of Cedar Crest academic programs in a new exhibit, "The Fabulous Life of..." The exhibit opens on December 3, 2007 with a reception from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Alumnae Museum, located in Curtis Hall. The show will run through February 2008.
Through an assortment of objects, photos and other artifacts, the exhibit showcases the evolution and the development of different academic departments on campus and is an opportunity to observe the changes that the College has gone through concerning majors. The Performing Arts Department, Nursing Department and Chemistry Department, among others, are featured.
"I think it is important to keep in mind how things have changed," says Christa Hagan '08, student curator of the exhibit. "For one thing, it is grounding, and for another, it provides inspiration to stay in the momentum of constantly improving from the past."
The Alumnae Museum was founded to preserve the history of Cedar Crest College and to develop an appreciation of the history of women. It includes five significant collections - costume, photographs, paper, furniture, jewelry and art - from which student interns create rotating exhibits every year.
The Alumnae Museum is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and is located in Curtis Hall. For more information, please contact the College Relations Office at 610-740-3790 or email email@example.com.
