Cedar Crest College Hosts Free Holiday Concerts

Allentown, PA (November 20, 2008)—The Cedar Crest Performing Arts Department will present a pair of free holiday concerts for the public on Friday, December 5 at 12 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. in the Samuels Theater of the Tompkins College Center.  The concerts include seasonal selections of works—both music and dance—performed by members of the Cedar Crest College community.

The first act of both concerts will feature musical performances by the Madrigal Singers, All-College Chorus, and the premiere of the College’s new Instrumental Ensemble—all under the direction of Dot Hemerly.  According to Hemerly, the first act will include holiday carols with the audience, as well as an interactive rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

The second act will include dance works by the Cedar Crest Dance Company—under the direction of Robin Gerchman, Assistant Professor of Performing Arts and Director of Dance Program, and Michelle Jacobs, Assistant Professor of Performing Arts.
