A READING OF CREATIVE WORK BY CAROLYN SEGAL AND HARRY HUMES
Allentown, PA (October 15, 2004) - Carolyn Segal and Harry Humes will hold a reading of their creative work on Wednesday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the 1867 Room of the Tompkins College Center, Cedar Crest College.
The event is sponsored by Xi Kappa and the humanities department at Cedar Crest College. Segal is Associate Professor of English at Cedar Crest, has had a number of her poems published and is a frequent contributor to The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Harry Humes' most recent collection of poetry is August Evening with Trumpet (University of Arkansas Press, 2004). He is the author of five collections of poetry, including Butterfly Effect (Milkweed Editions), selected by Pattiann Rogers as the 1998 National Poetry Series winner, The Bottomland and Ridge Music (University of Arkansas Press), and is an Associated Writing Programs Contest Finalist. His poem "Butterfly Effect" was selected by James Tate for Best American Poetry of 1997. He is a recipient of a National Endowment Poetry Fellowship and several poetry grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
