Allentown, PA (October 12, 2006) - Rebecca Brown, violinist, accompanied by George Gollub, pianist, will present a faculty violin recital on Sunday afternoon, October 29th at 3:00 PM in the Harmon Hall of Peace.  The event is presented by Cedar Crest College's Cultural Programs Committee and is open to the public without charge.  They will be performing works by Handel, Beethoven, and Stravinsky.

Rebecca Brown

Rebecca Brown holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin from Drake University and a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Iowa. She has studied with Wilfred Biel, Alan Ohmes and Joyce Robbins at SUNY Stonybrook. She is currently on the music faculty of Cedar Crest College and has a large class of private students. Principal second violin with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, Ms. Brown also performs as a section first violinist with the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra and the Bach Festival Orchestra. She is a member of the chamber music group Satori, and appears regularly as a soloist with the Valley Vivaldi concert series.  Ms. Brown has taught and performed in northern Italy, Austria, Germany and Great Britain, and has studied related arts at Oxford University.  

George Gollub, accompanist, received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Lehigh University, and a Master of Arts in Musicology from New York University.  He is the Director of Music at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Easton and plays trombone and bass trumpet in addition to keyboard instruments.  He is an accomplished photographer, stained glass artist and gardener in his spare time.
