FORMER SMITHSONIAN CONSERVATOR TO GIVE PRESENTATION
"Costume as Document: Investigating the First Ladies' Gown Collection"
Allentown, PA (October 17, 2005) – Conservator Polly Willman will present a talk and slide presentation about "Costume as Document: Investigating the First Ladies' Gown Collection" on October 24, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumnae Hall Auditorium at Cedar Crest College.
Willman was Senior Costume Conservator, Preservation Services for the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution from 1988-99. Since then she has been a conservator in private practice and has consulted with Mount Vernon Estates and Gardens, the Nixon Library and Birthplace, FEMA and the Old State House Museum in Arkansas. She has been a guest lecturer at the Winterthur Museum, the University of Delaware and many other locations.
