RODALE AQUATIC CENTER FOR CIVIC HEALTH
OFFERS FIRST PADI SCUBA COURSE

Allentown, PA (February 26, 2004) - The Rodale Aquatic Center for Civic Health at Cedar Crest College will offer a new swim school course designed especially for people who would like to obtain Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) SCUBA diving certification. The seven-week class begins March 23.

"PADI is the the most widely recognized and respected diving certification in the world," says Scott Rowlands, Director of the Rodale Aquatic Center.

The class consists of five classroom and five pool modules which are "non-threatening" to create a positive experience. Open water training dives will be held at Dutch Springs in Bethlehem and will be taught by James Karapelou, PADI Master Instructor.

The Rodale Aquatic Center is dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness by providing a educational opportunities to the larger community, both alone and in cooperation with other organizations, that enhance the development of mind, body and spirit through a comprehensive array of aquatic classes, integrated with academic topics focused on healthy lifestyles.

The center has an 8-lane competition pool and a 25' x 40' warm-water exercise pool. It is fully-equipped with educational meeting rooms and is accessible for physically disabled visitors. "All the classes offered at the Rodale Aquatic Center employ state-of-the-art equipment in a spacious and comfortable environment and are led by qualified instructors. We also have the ability to train year round because of our indoor facilities," says Rowlands. "It is a marvelous environment to experience a holistic approach to aquatic exercise by combining the most technically advanced aquatic fitness programming and equipment with nutrition, health, and wellness classes."
