Allentown, PA (July 13, 2009)--Cedar Crest College has earned accreditation from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for several of its undergraduate programs, including its bachelor of science degrees in accounting, business administration, management and marketing. Cedar Crest College business department Chair Gaetan Giannini attended the accreditation ceremony in San Antonio on June 28.

ACBSP is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. With its primary focus on classroom learning and encouragement of scholarly research, ACBSP is a premier accrediting association for business schools and programs with a focus on teaching excellence at the associate, baccalaureate, and graduate levels.

"Cedar Crest College has shown their commitment to teaching excellence by participating in the accreditation process, achieving accreditation and continuing the process of quality improvement," said Douglas G. Viehland, executive director of the ACBSP.

Giannini said the accreditation confirms the quality of Cedar Crest business programs.

"ACBSP accreditation affirms that our decades-long commitment to teaching excellence is an approach that meets the needs of our students and the businesses that are so eager to hire them," said Giannini. "Additionally, the fact that ACBSP criteria are based upon the Malcom Baldridge quality program framework ensures that everything we offer to our students and community will continue to raise the bar of excellence over time."

Cedar Crest College is a liberal arts college that prepares women to take leadership roles at work and in the community on the local, regional, national and international levels. For information on academic programs, including those in business, call 1-800-360-1222.
