Community is Invited to the September 9th Book Signing/Fundraiser
at Cedar Crest College to Celebrate Publication of the Book
Allentown, PA (September 9, 2003) - Today, Tuesday, September 9 at 4:30 p.m., Cedar Crest College will celebrate the publication of the new book, "Infinite Possibilities: A Personal View of a Changing World" by College President, Dorothy Gulbenkian Blaney, with photographs by David Finn, at a reception and book signing. Both Blaney and Finn will be in the Lachaise Gallery of the Miller Family Building, Cedar Crest College to sign copies of their book. Admission to the book signing is free. Books may be purchased at the event. All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the Cedar Crest College Annual Fund.
As president of Cedar Crest College, Dr. Blaney is well-respected in the field of higher education, and brings a unique perspective to events that affect our daily lives. In a series of remarkable essays, she is able to provide insights into some of the most troubling problems as well as some of the most promising opportunities of our time. Meant to stimulate her students to look behind the ethical debates and glaring headlines of the day in order to uncover their deeper significance, Blaney presents compelling issues in ways that challenge, provoke, comfort and encourage her readers.
In "Infinite Possibilities" these essays are accompanied by photographs by the world-renowned photographer of sculpture, David Finn. From more than a decade-long friendship with Dr. Blaney, Finn has been able to complement her words with images from many cultures and periods of history. Together, the essays and images highlight the timeless and universal nature of their messages.
"Infinite Possibilities" is published by RuderoFinn Press, Inc. of New York City. The book signing and reception coincides with the exhibition of 14 monumental photographs taken by Finn of sculpture from the Corcoran Gallery of Washington, DC (please see Corcoran Exhibit release, August 29, 2003).
