Cedar Crest College Alumnae Perform Second Annual Benefit Concert
Allentown, PA (September 5, 2003) - For the second year in a row, Cedar Crest College dance alumnae and faculty are putting their dancing shoes back on to perform a benefit concert in memory of Carol Welton Kelly, former director of the dance program at Cedar Crest College. The concert will be held on September 13 at 8 p.m. in the Samuels Theatre in the Tompkins College Center. Kelly, who passed away on March 3, 2002, was an assistant professor of dance, director of the dance program and founder of the dance major at Cedar Crest. She had been a teacher at the College for 25 years.
The show will contain modern, ballet, tap and jazz performances to music by Norah Jones, Barbara Streisand, Jewel, the "Cirque de Soleil" and "The Lion King" soundtracks. The show is directed by Robin Gerchman, Director of Dance at Cedar Crest. "Carol Kelly was the voice of dance at Cedar Crest for 25 years.
