Resident Advisors (RAs) live in the residence halls. Key functions include acting in the role of peer helper, educator, administrator, policy enforcer, team member and role model. RAs have the opportunity to connect with a great group of students, staff members and the College community. They are expected to develop an awareness and sense of responsibility for all matters in the residence hall. The abilitiy to develop a good rapport with students, to foster individual responsibility and personal growth among residents and to respond to emergencies are all important considerations in selecting an individual for this position. Desirable personal characteristics include maturity, acceptance of others, honesty, openness, initiative, flexibility, reliability, sense of humor, emotional stability and leadership ability.

The office of residence life will begin to accept applications in late January. Students can access the application by going onto the Leadership tab (under Leadership opportunities) in MyCedarCrest. We no longer accept paper copies of the application.

Students are advised to check their Cedar Crest e-mail accounts for additional information regarding deadlines, individual and group interview dates.
