Summer Housing

How do I request summer housing?

If you plan to live on campus this summer, you will need to fill out the Summer Housing Request Form, which will need to be returned to the Residence Life Office in the Allen House by mid-March.

When is the selection for summer housing?

Summer housing selection will take place at the end of March, usually over the lunch hour.   If you cannot attend, you may pick up a Proxy Form from the receptionist at the Allen House and have someone attend selection in your place.

How much does housing cost?

The 2010 Summer Housing Rates are as follows:
Double Room: $70 per week
Deluxe Single Room:  $110 per week

Will I have to share a room?

This will depend on the number of students planning to live on campus over the summer. The majority of summer students will most likely have to share a room.

Can I stay in my room between summer sessions?

Yes, you can stay in your summer room between Summer Session I & II if you are in housing for both sessions

Is there housing during May Term?

Yes.  Regular summer housing costs apply as listed above.

Can I leave my belongings in my current room until Summer Session I begins?

Yes. You may remain in your current Spring semester room until the Summer Session I move-over date.

Can I have an air-conditioner in my room over the summer?

Air conditioners are allowed. If you wish to use an air conditioner, you must supply the unit. Air conditioners must be installed and/or inspected after installation by a member of the Facilities staff. After you have moved into your summer room, you may submit a work order for assistance with your air conditioner.

Will the dining hall be open over the summer?

No. The meal plan you currently have will end in May. During the summer, the Bistro will be open for limited hours Monday through Friday. However, you can elect to utilize our Flex program. Through Flex, you deposit money on your card and use it like a debit card in the Bistro so you don’t have to carry cash. Summer hours will be posted by Food Services staff.

Will I be able to have visitors during the summer?

Yes. All regular visitation rules apply. Student may have overnight guests Monday through Sunday. Please note that overnight hours are considered anytime between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. If you have questions about the visitation policy, please contact your RA or building supervisor.
