Cedar Crest College is proud to offer Dance, Theatre, CSI and Technical Stage camps for the summer of 2014. Get ready for an experience to remember as these camps will be taught by Cedar Crest College's own faculty!

Robin Gerchman For dancers between the ages of 10-14, with three years of previous dance classes, the intensive is guided by the criteria identified in the content of The National Arts Standards: Dance. This program will focus on the concepts of dance-based educational philosophies. Technique classes in modern, ballet, and jazz dance will be practiced to expand the dancer’s kinesthetic awareness and technical skills. All the sessions are designed to augment each students previous dance experience and are taught by professional dance faculty.

Design and Technical Theatre
Kevin Gallagher Students in grades 7 thru 12 learn about every aspects of working behind the scenes of a theatrical production. Hands-on experience in Lighting, Sound, Special Effects, Set Construction, Scene Painting, Costumes and Make-up. Experience it all.

Lawrence Quarino Have you ever wondered what it must be like to be a crime scene investigator or forensic scientist? Have you ever wondered if CSI TV shows accurately portray how the scientific investigation of crime is performed? This 5-day camp will explore how science can help solve crime using methods and techniques used by professional forensic scientists. Campers will have the opportunity to learn how to document crime scenes, find and properly collect evidence, and then how to analyze evidence in state-of-the-art forensic science laboratories. Cases will be presented and campers will use the knowledge they learn to solve them! Campers will learn about the analysis of common types of forensic evidence such as fingerprints, footwear impressions, and handwriting. Also, campers will learn the importance of knowing biology, chemistry, and physics in solving crime.
Acting and Improvisation
Tom Amico Designed for beginning and intermediate students ages 10-14 who want to work on their theatre skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Improvisational skills, building a character and understanding the process of rehearsal and performance will culminate in a short one act play at the end of the week.

Future Stars Day Camps
Camp highlights include daily swimming with instruction at Rodale Aquatic Center, Fine Arts, Science, Sports, Theater, and more. Campers may enroll weekly for 5-day or 3-day sessions. Nine weekly sessions begin June 16.
