GIRL SCOUTS INFORMATION SESSION
Did you ever participate in Girl Scouts growing up? Looking to connect with others in the area that want to give the girl scout experience to others? Then come to the Girl Scout Information Session on Thursday, October 29, 2009 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Alcove A in the TCC. Representatives from the local Girl Scout Office will be on hand to answer any and all questions. No previous participation in Girl Scouts in necessary to be a part of the information session or the group. BOO AT THE ZOO
Do you miss trick-or-treating? Then come volunteer at the Lehigh Valley Game Preserve on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters that come to the Lehigh Valley Zoo. MARCH OF DIMES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The March of Dimes is looking for volunteers to help with their 2009 Auction. The set up will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the majority of volunteers needed on Monday, November 2, 2009 during and after the event beginning at 5:00 p.m. This event will take place at Bear Creek Resort and Spa in Macungie. Do you enjoy visiting one-on-one with the elderly? Heartland Hospice is an agency that works with terminally ill patients to help make their last days less lonely and is in need of volunteers. FEEL GOOD FRIDAYS
Looking for a great way to start your weekend? Come join members of the Lutz Center for Community Service staff by performing service on a Friday evening. On Friday, November 6, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., we will be going to the teen night at Camelot for Kids here in Allentown, PA. Volunteers are needed to help run the teen night crafts and games and just have fun with the kids. PAINTING FOR A CAUSE
If painting is your thing, then this is the program for you. On Friday, November 6, 2009 the Lutz Center for Community Service will be working with Sixth Street Shelter to help paint and clean apartments before the next residents move in. GIVING BACK TO THE RANCH

Love music? Want to help usher? Come out to the Allentown Symphony to usher for a show! We will be ushering a show and assisting the Allentown Symphony and then we get to watch the show for free. There is a dress code; white blouse, black pants, and dress shoes. We will be departing Blaney Hall at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009. The show starts at 1:00 p.m. and goes to 5:00 p.m. We should be back on campus by 5:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided. COME AND MAKE FRIENDS
Come and be a college friend for under privileged kids in the Allentown area. Cedar Crest College and Muhlenberg College are working together to run the Second Mile Friends Program, a mentor program for Kindergartners through sixth graders. College Mentors, called college friends, will volunteer once a month to an activity held at Muhlenberg College or Cedar Crest College. Each activity is themed. You will be matched in groups, a few mentors and a few students as one group. The program runs from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The dates for the Fall semester are Sunday, November 8, 2009 and Sunday, December 6, 2009. WARM HEARTS 4 COLD NOSES
Do you love being around and taking care of animals? Do you miss your pets? If so, this is the opportunity for you. The second Sunday of every month there is an off-site adoption supported by Warm Hearts 4 Cold Noses. We need volunteers at the adopt-a-thon and also to help transport animals. If you have a car and would want to transport, you should only have to drive the animals one way. The next adopt-a-thon is Sunday, November 8, 2009 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. It is held at PetSmart on Macarthur Rd., PetSmart in Quakertown, and Petco on Lehigh St and the animals come from a shelter known as The Center in Easton. TWICE BLESSED THRIFT SHOP
Do you love to clean and organize? Then join the Lutz Center as we volunteer at Twice Blessed Thrift Stop in Allentown on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 12.p.m. Volunteers will be helping with cleaning, dusting, and organizing donations that have been brought to the store. FLINT HILL FARM
Do you like to work with animals? Then join us as we help at Flint Hill Farm in Coopersburg, PA. This event will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will muck stalls, milk goats, feed cows and have a great time working with the animals. KIDTUNES AT THE BANANA FACTORY
Want to work with kids? Love to do crafts? Come help out at the Banana Factory on Saturday, November 14, 2009. We will be helping with taking tickets from patrons and helping with a craft for the children who are attending. We will be departing at Blaney Hall at 8:45 a.m. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 12:00 p.m. We should be back on campus by 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Transportation will be provided. Looking for a way to impact the future of local students? Be a mentor. Volunteer mentors are needed to tutor and do activities with 6th through 12th grade students of the Lehigh Valley while launching them toward college and careers in Information Technology. This commitment is for a couple hours one Saturday a month at Lehigh University. This event will occur throughout the year. The next date is Saturday, November 14, 2009. Transportation will be provided to these events. TREXLER MIDDLE SCHOOL MENTORS
Mentors for an up and coming program at Trexler Middle School are needed! If you would like to give students living at-risk a responsible, caring role model who will assist with school assignments and help students to recognize their talents and encourage self awareness, this is the opportunity for you. The time commitment is every Friday from 3:15-4:30 p.m. starting on November 20, 2009 until the end of the academic school year.
