Falcons Swim Team Competing in First Home Meet in College's History
A new chapter in Cedar Crest College athletics begins as the newly formed swim team prepares for its first home meet in the program’s history. On Tuesday, November 19 at 7 p.m., in the Rodale Aquatic Center, the Cedar Crest Falcons will compete against the College of Saint Elizabeth’s Screaming Eagles.
“I expect this to be a very competitive meet,” said Cedar Crest Head Swimming Coach Greg Vossler. “Our team is really coming along and I’m looking forward to having the campus see what we can do.”
Swim team member, Madeline Young ‘17, said that she anticipates her and her teammates earning some of their best times this season, given the enthusiasm of competing at home for the first time.
“I expect there to be a lot of excitement and energy in the air,” Young said, adding that she’s happy and honored to be a part of the College’s history.
Margaret Olock ’17 agrees, saying she always swims her fastest when she knows her peers are watching.
“'I’m looking forward to swimming at our own pool,” she said. “We know the walls and we know the blocks.”
The Cedar Crest College swim team is a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
