Senior Art Show:
Through January 18
The Cedar Crest College senior art exhibition, creatively titled Insert Title Here, runs throuhg January 18th, in the Capstone Gallery on the first floor of Alumnae Hall. The exhibition, which is free to the public, showcases student work from the jewelry/metalsmith, painting, papermaking and ceramic studios.
According to Art Department Chair Jill Odegaard, the title for the show came about as the students were reflecting on the diversity of the work in a group show and how one title couldn't adequately capture the nature of the work. It also serves as an invitation for the public to come up with their own references and title connected to the show. As a participatory element, at the opening reception, the students will provide an opportunity for people to suggest a title.
Students in the exhibition are: Moriah Mylod, Jess Hauser, Meghan Cronrath, Dana Mount, Rafael Lopez, Caitlyn Nelson, Angelique Callandonato, Paige Busher, Jaime Marks and Amanda Weaver.
"This exhibition comes midway in the senior art majors' journey through the program," said Odegaard. "It provides them an opportunity to take their work outside of the clutter of the studio, see it on display, and reflect on the next steps in the development of their work as they prepare for their final exhibition in the spring semester."
