Cedar Crest College Art Chair to Discuss Handmade Nation Documentary in Bethlehem Friday

Handmade NationJill Odegaard, chair of the art department at Cedar Crest College, will take part in a panel discussion after the Lehigh Valley premiere of the Faythe Levine documentary, Handmade Nation: The Rise of D.I.Y., Art, Craft and Design, on Friday, December 4, 6 p.m. at Victory Fire House, 205 Webster Street, in Bethlehem.

Levine traveled the country to document the emerging indie craft movement. In this documentary she examines the marriage between historical craft techniques, punk culture and D.I.Y. ethos to provide a microcosm of the crafting community.
