What's Happening at Cedar Crest College
Commuter Spirit Week Set for Jan. 18-24
Cedar Crest College’s commuter students will take center stage when spring semester begins with Commuter Spirit Week (C.S.W.), slated from Jan. 18 through Jan. 24. The week of activities is being sponsored by the Commuter Awareness Board (C.A.B.). The mission of the Commuter Awareness Board is to bring commuters and the rest of the college community closer through service and fellowship, and the entire Cedar Crest College community is invited to participate Commuter Spirit Week events.
The schedule of activities includes:
Tuesday, January 18: Commuter Recognition Day—7:30-9 a.m., parking lot C; and 4:30-6 p.m., HBB parking lot. Free coffee and donuts will be served and free gifts will be handed out to those who attend.
Wednesday, January 19: Mural Unveiling—11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Commuter Lounge, Tompkins College Center. The C.A.B. has teamed up with the Art Society to have a mural painted on the wall of the commuter lounge. The mural will depict commuter and Cedar Crest life. A social mixer will be held to unveil the mural project.
Thursday, January 20: Commuter Luncheon—11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the President’s residence. All commuters are encouraged to attend this luncheon. Please bring any questions or suggestions to discuss with President Ambar.
Friday, January 21: Activity to be determined.
Sunday, January 23: Bowling Road Trip—6-8 p.m. Join fellow students for a trip to the Rose Bowl bowling lanes in Allentown. Vans will leave at 5:45 p.m. This is a free trip and dinner is included.
Monday, January 24: Trivial Pursuit—11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Falcon’s Nest, Tompkins College Center. It’s commuters against the faculty in a game of Trivial Pursuit. This exciting event includes a light lunch and an opportunity to win prizes.
