Artist Reception Today for “Life Choice,” Featuring Students from Several Local Colleges

Cedar Crest College is hosting an artist reception on Friday, Jan. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for “Life Choice, a free exhibition of the work of local college students from Cedar Crest, Lafayette, Moravian, Muhlenberg and Northampton Community colleges, as well as Lehigh University. The exhibition will run through Feb. 26 in the Lachaise Gallery in the Miller Family Building. Several types of art will be on display including painting, metalsmithing, sculptural forms, photography, mixed media, and much more.

The idea behind the “Life Choice” exhibition is to show the influence that art has on a student’s education and future success and on the larger community, said Cedar Crest Art Department Chair Jill Odegaard. The exhibit will help people understand that a career and life in art is a “reasonable path.”

Gallery hours for the “Life Choice” exhibition are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Art work can also be viewed by appointment. For information call 610-606-4666, ext. 3469.
