Preview of Cedar Crest's Godspell to Air Tonight During Service Electric's 6:30 Newscast

Godspell at Cedar Crest College

The Cedar Crest performing arts production of Godspell, which takes to the Samuels Theatre stage in Tompkins College Center this Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., will be previewed tonight during Service Electric Channel 2's 6:30 news broadcast. The Cedar Crest College production of the popular musical depicting the last week in the life of Jesus Christ based on the Gospel According to Saint Matthew has a decidedly local flavor. The play's set design will include elements of the Bethlehem Steel site, which will certainly be familiar to most theater goers.

The actors/actresses in the Cedar Crest College production of Godspell include Gregory Paradis as Jesus Christ and Leonardo Altafine as Judas and John the Baptist. Cedar Crest students in the cast include seniors Jennifer Bonetti, Molly McPherson and Michelle Schmidt; junior Lillian Harper; sophomore Katie Besemer; and first-year students Rebecca Pandone and Jillian Dente. Michael Contrereas and Douglas Rau round out the cast. Costume design for Godspell is by Rebecca Callan. Musical director is Dorothea Hemerly, and stage manager is Caitlin Bailey. Choreographer is Robin Gerchman, Cedar Crest director of dance.

Tickets for Godspell are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students with I.D. For more information or tickets call the box office at 610-606-4608.
