An Inconvenient Truth on Screen in Oberkotter Center for Health and Wellness

The Cedar Crest College Sustainability Committee, in conjunction with the campus’ RecycleMania program, will offer a public screening of the documentary film, An Inconvenient Truth, on Thursday, Feb. 18, from 7-10 p.m. in Oberkotter Center for Health and Wellness, Room 1. The film, released in 2006, follows former U.S. Vice President Al Gore’s efforts to education the public about global warming and its potential impact on our world.

Following the movie, members of the Sustainability Committee and faculty will address the issues set forth in the movie, and answer questions about sustainability efforts being made on the Cedar Crest campus. Popcorn and refreshments will be served. For information contact Roxxi Shupp at roxi@cedarcrest.edu or 800-360-1222.

In addition to RecycleMania, a national recycling competition for colleges and universities, Cedar Crest College is doing a great deal to be environmentally conscious, including using more energy efficient T8 fluorescent light bulbs in campus buildings, gardening with non-toxic and other pesticides that have a reduced impact on the environment, recycling old computer equipment, and much more.
