Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day

On Thursday, February 28, Cedar Crest College joined nearly 100 educational institutions worldwide to participate in the first-ever Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day.

The initiative, organized by CASE Affiliated Student Advancement Programs (ASAP), is designed to increase student understanding of philanthropy on college and university campuses.

Tables were set up in the TCC where the Class of 2013 launched their Senior Challenge Campaign. Students also provided video testimonial “thank you's” to donors that will be posted on the Cedar Crest College website, our YouTube channel, and our alumnae and College Facebook pages.

“Making a gift to the Cedar Crest Fund is an immediate, heartfelt way students can say thank you for the support of our loyal graduates and friends,” says, Class President, Samantha Woodfin. “It also helps train us to be loyal and consistent donors and we will be the future philanthropic leaders for Cedar Crest College.”

Samantha Woodfin, President of the Class of 2013 and Laura Swanhall, Vice President, assist a classmate with her donation.

The Class of 2013 received gifts from 30 students totaling more than $600 (over 25% to their goal) and 11 additional gifts from faculty and staff.

Gifts can be made online at www.cedarcrest.edu/give (designate "Senior Challenge") or contact Lori Gilio at lagilio@cedarcrest.edu or 610-606-4666 ext. 3385 or stop by Blaney Hall 201.
