What's Happening at Cedar Crest College

What a Way to End the Season! Ahead...Nationals

As everyone on campus was heading off for Spring Break, the Cedar Crest Forensic Speech Team ventured out for it's last regular season set of Tournaments at West Chester University - the AFA District VII Tournament, which is the last regular season Tournament prior to Nationals!

Over the course of the weekend, the Cedar Crest Forensic Speech Team took two Team Sweepstakes Awards, One Individual Sweepstakes Award, and NINE Individual Event Awards! This is particularly impressive given that we competed over the weekend with a Team of four students!

Additionally, HALEIGH WASHBURN was awarded the SNAFU Scholarship Award, one of the two awards given to a forensic speech competitor who excels in academics, community service and forensic speech competitions. Congratulations to Haleigh on this prestigious Award!

Over the course of the 2011-2012 competitive season, the Cedar Crest Forensic Speech Team has truly represented the best of Cedar Crest, bringing home over EIGHTY-FIVE Individual and Team Awards!!

Specific Awards are posted below - most exciting, however, is where the Team is headed next! The Cedar Crest Forensic Speech Team will be represented this year at the AFA National Championship by Haleigh Washburn and Toni Byers - between these two students, they will bring a total of SEVEN events!! The National Championship will be held this year in San Marcos, TX over the first weekend of April - we'll share all the good news from Nationals once we return!
