Forensicators Take Tempe
Cedar Crest College students and members of the Forensic Speech Team are capping-off an award-winning 2013-2014 competitive season by traveling to Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona on April 2-8 to compete in the American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET). Team Captain Erin Studer '14, Marissa Lawall '15, and Jocelyn Polan '17 all had performances that qualified them to compete in this national spotlight, marking the seventh consecutive year that Cedar Crest College has been represented at the AFA-NIET.
In order to qualify for this national championship tournament, competitors must make it to the final rounds of regular season competition repeatedly within the same event, and then they begin a process of focused work in preparation for this final tournament of the year.
"I could not be prouder of the work from our entire Team this year," said Tim Brown, Director of the Forensic Speech Team at Cedar Crest. "While they have all had amazing successes this year, I am thrilled with the talent and dedication shown by Erin, Jocelyn, and Marissa - and I am so excited to see how they shine in Tempe."
