Top Recycling Dormitory Unveiled at RecycleMania Congratulations Party Sunday Night

The RecycleMania program at Cedar Crest will culminate this Sunday, April 11, from 6-10 p.m. with a congratulations party in Lees Hall. The dorm that has collected the most recyclables since the RecycleMania kickoff in January will receive a special trophy to commemorate their achievement at 6 p.m., presented by Christine Verdier ’99, a representative from State Senator Dave Argall’s office.

After the presentation, attendees will be treated to refreshments and music by two local bands, Fell Swoop and SWiM. The party is open to members of the Cedar Crest College community, family members and friends. For information contact Roxana Shupp at roxi@cedarcrest.edu or 800-360-1222.

This year marks Cedar Crest College’s first participation in the national RecycleMania program, a recyclable collection competition which aims to raise awareness of the importance of recycling on college campuses. In addition to this week’s cook off, the campus has held a sustainability video contest, recycled art competition, green fashion show featuring recycled fashions, and many more events during the current semester to promote environmentally friendly practices.
