Join Cedar Crest College for a Rocking Afternoon of Beatles Classics this Sunday

The Cedar Crest Performing Arts Department presents “A Beatles Tribute,” featuring performances by the All-College Chorus, Cedar Crest Singers, and instrumental ensemble on Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m. in Samuels Theatre of Tompkins College Center. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will showcase the music of the band widely considered to be the best pop/rock band of all time.

The concert kicks off with the instrumental ensemble playing a medley of such Beatles classics as “All You Need Is Love,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Something” and “Day Tripper.” Later, the All-College Chorus and Cedar Crest Singers will combine with a professional rock band to present such hits as “Hello, Goodbye,” “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude” and “Penny Lane.” Solos and small group performances include “With a Little Help From My Friends,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Help!” and many more. The audience is encouraged to sing along to their favorite Beatles songs throughout the show, with the goal to simulate an actual rock and roll concert, show Director Dorothea Hemerly said.

“The students have chosen the songs for the program and orchestrated the choreography for the show, and it promises to be fun for Beatles fans and rock and roll enthusiasts of all ages,” she said.
