Reflections: Senior Photographer Diane Kohlreiter Discusses Her Work on Display Through May 15
Diane Kohlreiter’s art is part of the Cedar Crest College Senior Art Exhibition, which will be displayed in the Lachaise Gallery in Miller Family Building through May 15. Her thoughts on the inspiration and motivation behind her work are below as the next in a series of brief articles on students participating in the exhibition.
“I have been focusing on portraits for the past two years. I focus a lot on emotion, light and texture; these three main points can be seen and felt through all my photographs. I want people to see the world through my eyes and understand the way I see things. Whether I use my 35mm with black and white film or my digital SLR, I tell a story with my portraits. I have more of a “fine art” style to my photographs as opposed to the traditional portraits of the past.”
The Lachaise Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., as well as by appointment. For an appointment or additional information, contact Art Gallery Coordinator Brian Wiggins at 610-606-4666, ext. 3469.
