On Thursday, May 8 Cedar Crest Board of Trustees member, Susan Everitt Hudgins ’64, concluded her term as Chair and passed the gavel to Rear Admiral David Keller, Supply Corps, USN (retired). Mr. Keller will continue Mrs. Hudgins’ work with President Carmen Twillie Ambar and the other board members to ensure a thriving and vibrant institution for tomorrow while maintaining its core tradition as a women’s college.
Mrs. Hudgins has dedicated her time and talents as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the past five years and the College is grateful for her many contributions. During her tenure, the College developed and began to execute its strategic plan that’s led to new academic programs, an expansion in study abroad opportunities and the addition of new facilities, including a media convergence lab and multicultural center.
“Sue Hudgins has been an essential asset to the Cedar Crest Community,” said President Ambar. “Her dedication to the College is unparalleled and I’ve enjoyed working with her on many of the College’s exciting initiatives.
Mrs. Hudgins joined Cedar Crest’s Board of Trustees in 1998. In addition to Cedar Crest, she serves on boards for Burroughs & Chapin Art Museum, First Presbyterian Church and The Rivoli Theater Group. Currently, Mrs. Hudgins dedicates her time to volunteering for Bottomless Closet, a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged women enter and succeed in the workforce, and Enterprise Foundation, which works to create more affordable housing. She is a former member of the New York City Real Estate Board and is a retired executive at UBS Paine Webber. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Cedar Crest College in 1964, Mrs. Hudgins went on to earn her M.B.A. from Pace University.
