Nursing Student Runs in Boston Marathon
Cedar Crest College senior nursing student Emily Mueller ran in the 115th Boston Marathon on April 18, completing the 26.2-mile course in less than four hours. Completing the marathon brought great satisfaction for Mueller.
“The Boston Marathon is on every runners bucket list. It’s the oldest annual marathon in the United States, and the qualification standards for entering have made it the mecca of running,” she said. “Being among 27,000 people in this iconic race with over half a million spectators cheering you on is an unbelievable feeling. The great thing about a marathon is that whether you come in first, or you come in last, everyone wins that sense of pride and accomplishment.”
Efforts like Mueller’s underscore the importance of health and wellness, one of the five broad principles of Cedar Crest College’s Strategic Plan.
