Leadership Program: PLEN
The Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) is the only national organization with the sole focus of preparing college women for leadership in the public policy arena. Students who attend PLEN seminars gain inside knowledge on how Washington, D.C. works from women leaders who make, and influence public policy every day.
PLEN, which has been in existence over 35 years, has a large and diverse network of alumnae and speakers, who provide students with life-long career resources, mentor opportunities and support. Many PLEN alumnae have gone on to high levels of government, to political appointments in the executive branch, to start their own nonprofits, to climb the corporate ladder, to run for office, and so much more.
As a PLEN member school, Cedar Crest College provides scholarship funding for students of all disciplines to attend the public policy seminars, and learn a variety of ways to impact change.
Cedar Crest faculty have been very supportive of students interested in attending the career related seminars. If you are interested in learning more, you can contact the Office of Leadership and Student Development, or review PLEN's website at www.plen.org. We will do everything possible to send any student interested in attending. The financial scholarship application is available online through OrgSync. Money is distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
