Animal Hair Identification

Animal hairs are a commonly available source of evidence that are routinely overlooked. This course will cover the basics of the taxonomy of mammals, the identification of hairs, and the various methods for classification of animal hairs to specific taxonomic levels. Particular attention will be paid to game, fur, and domestic animal hairs. Aspects of testimony will also be covered.
