Assistant Professor
Accounting and Finance

Cedar Crest College invites applications for the position of a non-tenure tracked position in Business, Management and Economics beginning in the Spring 2019 semester.
The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Teaching 4 courses or the equivalent of 12 credits per semester, both face-to-face and online at the undergraduate and master’s level
  • Advising students
  • Supporting curriculum and schedule changes in preparation for accreditation
  • Being actively engaged in service to the department and college, including attending all department meetings and all campus wide faculty meetings/workshops
  • Supporting the department at recruiting events
  • Maintaining a presence on campus during the day for students and at campus wide events; Maintaining office hours on campus at a minimum of 4 hours’ weekly, including one evening per week
  • Building relationships with the business community to foster student opportunities in the accounting and finance area with oversight of the accounting and investment clubs and post-bac CPA certificate
  • Other business department needs that are of priority during the academic year

Candidates should hold a terminal degree or ABD in Accounting, Finance or a Business discipline, preferably from an ACBSP accredited school, with at least five years of professional experience in the field.  Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills are essential, as are exceptional interpersonal skills and effective time management.  Prior experience teaching at the college level, along with program and curriculum planning is strongly preferred.

The Department of Biological Sciences at Cedar Crest College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty for lecture and laboratory sections of BIO 111 (Concepts in Ecology and Environmental Issues), laboratory and recitation sections of BIO 123 (Foundations in Biology), a lecture section of BIO 129 (Outbreak Investigations), and a lab section of BIO 239 (Animal Ecology, Development and Evolution). Assistant Director of Art Therapy Programs
Assistant Professor of Art Therapy

Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full time Assistant Director of Art Therapy programs/Assistant Professor to begin August 2018.  Cedar Crest’s program is committed to an arts-based learning process that integrates theories of art therapy and psychology within a studio model of treatment.  This is a 9 month appointment with a 24 credit teaching load for the academic year.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate art therapy courses, student recruitment and advising, curriculum development, program delivery, development of practicum and internship alliances, and placement coordination, supervision, and documentation. Participation in activities of the department and college are expected.  The Assistant will also work closely with the Director of MAAT program to develop and implement a cohesive and well integrated art therapy program that is congruent with the College’s mission and standards, while adhering to state, professional, and credentialing guidelines, ethics, and policies.  

Qualified candidates must possess a master’s degree in Art Therapy with a minimum of five years clinical art therapy experience, including in a supervisory capacity.  Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.  Current ATR-BC credentials are required as is active participation in state, national or local professional organizations.  Availability to teach in the day and evening/accelerated programs required.  Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail are essential.

Administrative Assistant
Nursing

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, customer focused Administrative Assistant to provide support for our busy Nursing department. The Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Chair, faculty and staff, serving as the liaison with other administrative offices and for providing student services appropriate to the department function.  The Assistant manages the Chair’s calendar, provides organization and support for compliance with accrediting bodies, maintains and updates faculty and staff files, schedules and coordinates testing, classroom requests, photos and departmental functions, collects and organizes data for Periodic Program Review, and manages faculty compliance with clinical agency requirements. The Assistant also provides support primarily for undergraduate programs and for graduate programs as necessary. 

Minimum of an Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.  The successful Assistant will have prior administrative support experience, excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success with multi-tasking and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential. Candidates must be proficient with applicable computer systems and software, including Microsoft office.

Head Tennis Coach

Graduate Assistant – Tennis
Part time

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for a graduate assistant (GA) tennis coach who will be responsible for assisting the head coach in all facets of the position:  practice planning, game preparation, recruiting, and fundraising.  The GA will assist in player development on an individual and team basis, recognize individual talent for recruiting specific to team requirements through ongoing assessment of team performance, and inform players of their responsibilities, duties, and roles. The GA will also assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic program including developing and implementing initiatives that best serve the student population. The position includes on campus housing (for eligible candidates), 12 credits annually and an annual stipend.

A Bachelor's degree and prior collegiate level tennis playing or coaching experience is required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and acceptance in to a graduate program at Cedar Crest are also required. Head Lacrosse Coach and Compliance Officer

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Head Lacrosse Coach who will also serve as the athletic department Compliance Officer.  The coach will develop, recruit and administer a competitive women’s lacrosse program consistent with the student-athlete philosophy of NCAA Division III athletics.   Coaches are also expected to develop, coordinate and manage an active recruitment and retention program for lacrosse student athletes. 

The Compliance Officer monitors recruiting, playing and practice activities to ensure overall compliance, monitors full-time enrollment, graduation rates, academic progress, and academic status of student-athletes all in accordance with NCAA rules and institutional and departmental regulations.  The Compliance Officer also works closely with Transfer and Transition services to address and respond to academic concerns in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.

Graduate Assistant – Swim Coach

Cedar Crest College, an NCAA Division III member, is accepting applications for a graduate assistant (GA) swim coach.

Web Application Developer/Analyst
Information Technology

Cedar Crest College is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking Web Application Developer/Analyst to provide application development and integration with campus databases delivered via the web.  The Web Developer/Analyst is also responsible for extensive data analysis, collaborating with constituents across campus, for providing solutions to resolve problems and enhance processes, while analyzing how web systems are used today and how they can be used more effectively tomorrow.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development or related field and at least two years of experience developing web applications with a thorough knowledge of internet technologies, web servers and web delivery applications.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of technical education and experience will be considered.  Expertise in web development using current scripting technologies including ASP.NET, C#, SQL, HTML5, CSS, jQuery and Javascript in an IIS Web environment is essential; Familiarity with student information systems (Jenzabar EX and JICS) strongly preferred.  Candidates must be able to work with both software and network operating systems in a Windows based environment.  Strong communication, organizational and time management skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service for the campus community.  Effective problem solving and analytical skills, including proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and generate solutions are essential.

GROUNDS SUPERVISOR
Full Time

Cedar Crest College has an excellent opportunity for an experienced grounds person to supervise the overall maintenance and presentation of the campus exterior including landscape, hardscape, athletic fields and our nationally recognized campus arboretum.   The Grounds Supervisor serves as a working supervisor and provides daily oversight and delegation of work to the grounds team, in addition to working collaboratively with other supervisors to ensure work priorities are met, resources are being allocated properly, work orders are completed and customers receive follow up on their requests. The Grounds Supervisor conducts daily and long-range planning and assists the Director of Facilities in capital planning and renewal. The Grounds Supervisor also plans, resources and executes projects as assigned to provide the best possible physical environment for education and student living. The Grounds Supervisor is considered “essential personnel” and is required to provide various duties and maintenance services during and outside normal working hours and during institution closures; and duties associated with emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled events.

Requirements include at least eight years of experience in the landscape profession with three years in a supervisory capacity; degree in landscape, hardscape botany or horticulture strongly preferred. Valid PA driver’s license, proficiency in specialized power equipment and current Pesticide Applicator’s License required.  Candidates must have demonstrated effective customer service, teamwork, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.  Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, tolerate exposure to outside weather conditions on a daily basis, climb ladders and scaffolding and work up to 50 feet off the ground.

Office Coordinator
Global Initiatives and International Programs

Cedar Crest College is seeking an organized, creative full time Office Coordinator to coordinate study abroad programs for the department of Global Initiatives and International Programs.  Responsibilities include coordinating all Sophomore Year Expedition (SYE) and study tour documentation (waivers/forms/passports), promoting and advising students on study abroad programs, overseeing study abroad scholarships, fairs, passports days and other marketing and promotional events, and assisting with information sessions, and pre-departure training.  The Coordinator will create promotional flyers and brochures, promote programs using social media, collect and process student information for international programs and travel, schedule and coordinate events, and provide other support to international programs.  The Coordinator reports to the Director of Global Initiatives and International Programs.

Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline required; Master’s degree in International Education preferred, as is at least three years prior experience in a study abroad office.  The successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal, customer service and communication skills, as well as superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.  Proficiency with applicable technology and social media is required as is a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a deadline driven environment. CAMPUS POLICE
Two Full Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has two excellent opportunities for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team!  The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week.  Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.  Openings include:

  • Full-time Corporal: Middle shift (4 pm – Midnight)
  • Full-time Officer:  Middle or night shift availability required

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferably in a higher educational setting is required.  Act 235 certification is also required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education.   Both positions require a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.

Aquatic Specialist –Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

The Rodale Aquatic Center, located on the campus of Cedar Crest College, is seeking a qualified full time, certified lifeguard who will also serve as a swim school instructor.  This position will instruct swim classes, lifeguard, schedule and provide direction to Center lifeguards and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center. 

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (recreation, sports management, etc.) preferred, current certification as a lifeguard, and in CPR, AED and First Aid required.  Prior experience in an aquatic facility and familiarity with scheduling are also required.  Exceptional time management, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.  Qualified candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends while the Center is operational.

Part Time Dispatcher/Switchboard
Campus Police

Do you have prior dispatch/switchboard experience with an interest in law enforcement? If so, consider the opportunity to join our team to answer and redirect calls, monitor radio and surveillance systems, monitor alarm systems, dispatch officers, contact appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintain confidentiality and other duties to keep our campus and students safe. The successful candidate will have prior experience in dispatch/switchboard operations or law enforcement coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and function well in stressful situations. LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.
