Adjunct Faculty

Nursing Faculty Positions

Assistant Program Director
Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) Program

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for an Assistant Program Director to assist with the daily operations of the newly created Doctorate of Nursing in Anesthesia program and assure compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia educational programs and guidelines.  Responsibilities will include teaching in the nurse anesthesia program, assisting with program and curriculum development, and student advising. The position also involves related duties such as college committee work, departmental duties, and continuing professional development.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate degree and possess active certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with demonstrated skills in nurse anesthesia education and clinical practice. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience; graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice; and prior classroom teaching experience. Prior experience with program and curriculum development is strongly preferred.  Applicants must also have knowledge of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) practice and professional issues.

Nursing Faculty Positions

Associate Director of International Admissions

Cedar Crest College is seeking an experienced admissions professional to lead the College’s international student recruitment initiatives, including coordinating processes, required documentation and agency communication, in addition to traveling internationally for recruitment.    The Associate Director serves as the contact person for international inquiries from students, families and agencies seeking an undergraduate education in the United States, specifically at a historic women’s college.  The Associate Director works collaboratively with others to provide a seamless transition for international students enrolling at the College.

International Student Services Coordinator

Cedar Crest College is seeking an International Student Services Coordinator to ensure international students are in compliance with all relevant legal regulations and campus policies.  The Coordinator will serve as the DSO for the College, maintain SEVIS records for current and former students and will help students access all appropriate immigration benefits.   The Coordinator will work collaboratively with members of the Academic Services and the campus community to support international students during their transition to Cedar Crest and throughout their education. 

A master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, international education or relevant field is required.  A minimum of three years’ experience supporting international students in higher education as well as strong working knowledge of US immigration policy and SEVIS processes required.  Exceptional interpersonal, communication and cultural competency skills are essential, in addition to strong organizational and time management skills.  The selected candidate will be detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced, changing environment with a commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Dispatcher/Switchboard Operator
Full Time, Middle Shift (4:00 PM – Midnight)
Campus Police

Cedar Crest College seeks an energetic and dependable individual to serve as Campus Switchboard Operator/Dispatcher.  Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated ability to function well in stressful situations, and knowledge of phone, radio and alarm systems. Prior campus police/law enforcement dispatch experience is strongly preferred.

Duties include answering and redirecting calls, monitoring the radio and surveillance systems, monitoring alarm systems, dispatching officers, contacting appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintaining confidentiality and other duties as directed. A background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation are all required.  Position may include rotating weekends and holidays, based upon staffing needs.

Manager of Donor Relations and Special Events
Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join a fast paced development team.   The Manager of Donor Relations and Special Events is responsible for developing an individualized donor relations program that strengthens the long term relationships with scholarship and major donors as well as planning, developing, coordinating and executing all aspects of special events  for the department.   The Manager will maintain an active schedule of meetings with donor prospects and assist with overall development efforts of the department, including the Cedar Crest Fund.   

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and innovative thinker with strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills along with a positive attitude, good sense of humor and a desire to work in a goal – oriented environment.  A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines is also critical to success. 

A Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience of demonstrated success in a fundraising environment as well as prior experience with proven ability to manage special events from inception through execution are required. Director of Adult and Graduate Admissions

Cedar Crest College is seeking a dynamic, experienced Director of Adult and Graduate Admissions who will be responsible for directing the activities of the School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE) admissions office, including planning supervising, and assessing all aspects of the admissions and recruitment for graduate and undergraduate programs. The Director establishes enrollment goals and facilitates the achievement of those goals within the College.  The Director also serves as the primary liaison for community and business partnerships.

Network Administrator
Information Technology

Cedar Crest College is seeking a customer focused Network Administrator to maintain and monitor our technology infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, remote access systems, network applications, servers and disaster recovery.  The Network Administrator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and forecasting LAN, WAN server performance, installing and maintaining applications, servers, distributing software upgrades, and operating system updates while ensuring the overall security of the technology infrastructure and prioritizing campus network reliability.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent professional experience and at least five years of experience with in network administration, including troubleshooting server/computer hardware and software problems.  Vendor and educational sponsored technical training certifications such as MCSE, Network + or similar are required.  Technical knowledge requirements include:  Desktop operating systems (Windows 7 and 10), Network operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), Virtual Servers (VMWare), Microsoft Office 365, Aruba Wireless Networks and Extreme, Palo Alto and Hewlett Packard Networking. Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.  Effective problem solving and analytical skills, including proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and generate solutions are essential.

Professional Tutor – Chemistry and Math

Cedar Crest College is seeking a full time tutor for chemistry and math. Reporting to the Director of Student Success and Retention and operating in the Student Success Center, the Professional Tutor for chemistry and mathematics provides individual and group tutoring services for students enrolled in courses or programs requiring competency in math or chemistry. The Professional Tutor also provides tutoring for students preparing for standardized tests such as the TEAS or PAPA exams. The Professional Tutor assists students in accessing other academic resources, and collaborates with faculty and staff to provide other chemistry and math supports such as workshops and exam preparation sessions. Candidates for this position must be available to work at least two evenings per week.  Anticipated start date is early June 2017.

A Bachelor’s degree in appropriate content area is required; Master’s degree preferred.   Prior experience teaching or tutoring algebra, statistics, calculus and chemistry at the college level is also required.  The successful candidate must have excellent written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. A proven track record of success working with diverse students with a wide range of academic needs is also essential.

CAMPUS POLICE
Two Full Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has two excellent opportunities for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team!  The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week.  Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.  Openings include:

  • Full-time Corporal: Middle shift (4 pm – Midnight)
  • Full-time Officer:  Middle or night shift availability required

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferably in a higher educational setting is required.  Act 235 certification is also required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education.   Both positions require a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.

Director of First and Second year Experience

Cedar Crest College offers an outstanding opportunity for an energetic professional to provide leadership for and administrative oversight for the College’s efforts designed to facilitate learning experiences to promote student success in and out of the classroom for first and second year students.  The Director will foster increased collaborations within and work closely with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs and faculty, teaching freshman and sophomore level courses.  Working with the Director of Student Success and Retention, the Director will play a critical role in developing efforts to improve the College’s retention and graduation rates and student success. 

Primary responsibilities include collaborating with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, faculty and other administrative units in the planning and development and success of the FYE and SYE programs, coordinating efforts and planning with SOAR (Summer Orientation and Academic Registration), August orientation and welcome back activities, and assisting in the coordination of the Sophomore Year Expedition trip annually, which takes sophomores abroad each year for 7 – 10 days.  The Director will also identify and establish collaborative relationships with offices that support development and retention of first and second year students, coordinate the First Friday lecture series, and develop, coordinate, implement, manage and promote the College’s FYE and SYE’s programs, including the articulation of a vision and goals for student learning and development in the first and second years as well as the creation of academic and co-curricular programs in support of the FYE and SYE programs.  In addition, the Director will develop and implement High Impact Practices for working with first and second year students, set the direction of future phases of the first and second year experiences as well as provide general supervision of student Peer and Transfer Mentors, maintain and oversee a budget and coordinate a parent communication plan. 

A Master’s degree in higher education administration or related subject and at least two years of experience in orientation, admissions or other related academic area are required; experience with residence life and/or advising is strongly preferred.  The successful candidate must have a passion for working with a diverse student population, a commitment to student learning and development, and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Proven experience with and a thorough understanding of principles and practices involved in FYE and SYE program development, theoretical models, best practices, and current issues supporting first and second year student transition, development and retention is essential.   Strong and effective communication, leadership, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills are also critical to the position.  Demonstrated ability to utilize technology in the delivery of student programs strongly preferred.  Prior experience in event management and program planning as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, solve complex interpersonal situations and prioritize multiple responsibilities are necessary.

Aquatic Specialist –Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

The Rodale Aquatic Center, located on the campus of Cedar Crest College, is seeking a qualified full time, certified lifeguard who will also serve as a swim school instructor.  This position will instruct swim classes, lifeguard, schedule and provide direction to Center lifeguards and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center. 

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (recreation, sports management, etc.) preferred, current certification as a lifeguard, and in CPR, AED and First Aid required.  Prior experience in an aquatic facility and familiarity with scheduling are also required.  Exceptional time management, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.  Qualified candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends while the Center is operational.

LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.
