Employment Opportunities - Faculty

Director of Field Education
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Accredited Program

Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full-time Director of Field Education for our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program (accredited by CSWE).  The Director is responsible for the leadership and oversight of social-work field education, teaching direct-practice courses, and eventually teaching the research sequence of courses.  Other regular duties will include student advising, committee service, participation in curricular assessment and review, and research and scholarly activities. The position is scheduled to begin in August 2018.

Position requirements include a Ph.D. or DSW; an MSW degree from an accredited program; and a minimum of two years post-MSW direct-practice experience and social work licensure (LSW or LCSW).  A demonstrated ability to teach research and direct practice to undergraduate students and strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required.  Preferred qualifications include prior teaching experience in a BSW or MSW program; experience as a field instructor/supervisor for BSW and/or MSW students; and knowledge of social-service agencies in the greater Lehigh Valley area.

Director of the Masters in Art Therapy Program (MAAT)

Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full time Director of the Masters in Art Therapy (MAAT) program anticipated to begin June 2018.  Cedar Crest’s MAAT program began in 2013 and is committed to an arts-based learning process that integrates theories of art therapy and psychology within a studio model of treatment.  The program is actively seeking CAAHEP accreditation and the Director will provide a leadership role in the initial accreditation.

Responsibilities include teaching graduate level art therapy courses, student recruitment and advising, continuation of scholarly activity, and participation in the activities of the department and college.  The Director will also assist with accreditation, curriculum and program development, internship coordination, thesis and other departmental initiatives.

Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Art Therapy or related field or be currently enrolled in a PhD Art Therapy Program; a Master’s degree in Art Therapy with extensive professional and teaching experience will be considered.  Current ATR-BC credentials required as is active participation in state, national or local professional organizations.  Demonstrated evidence of continuing scholarly work and research agenda, in addition to evidence of competence in teaching, required.  A personal studio art practice is desirable.

MBA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Business, Management and Economics

The Department of Business, Management and Economics invites applications for a Program Director to lead the newly established Master of Business of Administration (MBA) at Cedar Crest College. The Program Director serves as the primary liaison between the College and learners on all academic and administrative matters concerning the MBA program and works collaboratively with the department Chair and Associate Provost for the School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE). The Program Director will be responsible for all academic and administrative aspects of the degree related to academic quality, teaching delivery, course and faculty assessments, including the selection, supervision and development of program support activities.  The Program Director will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all college rules, academic regulations and requirements, including government and accreditation requirements. The Director also promotes and develops community partnerships in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.

This is a fulltime faculty appointment beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year and includes responsibility for teaching 18 credits annually within the department of Business, Management and Economics.

Applicants should hold a PhD or a terminal degree, combined with increasingly responsible experience and expertise in academic advisement, student development, curriculum development and have professional expertise in the business industry of at least ten years. Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level and in cross-cultural or international settings, as well as strong organizational, collaborative advising and program planning skills are preferred.  Demonstrated experience in building business and community relationships, strong communication, intercultural and interpersonal skills and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities is strongly preferred.

Nursing Faculty Positions

Assistant Program Director
Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) Program

Cedar Crest College is accepting applications for an Assistant Program Director to assist with the daily operations of the newly created Doctorate of Nursing in Anesthesia program and assure compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia educational programs and guidelines.  Our Nurse Anesthesia Program is contingent upon approval from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).  Responsibilities will include teaching in the nurse anesthesia program, assisting with program and curriculum development, and student advising. The position also involves related duties such as college committee work, departmental duties, and continuing professional development.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate degree and possess active certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with demonstrated skills in nurse anesthesia education and clinical practice. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience; graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice; and prior classroom teaching experience. Administrative Assistant
Institutional Advancement

Cedar Crest College is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, customer focused Administrative Assistant to provide operational support for our dynamic and busy Institutional Advancement department. The Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Vice President including scheduling meetings with prospects, major donors and community leaders.

The Assistant performs all necessary clerical functions such as greeting and directing visitors, opening department mail, answering the main telephone line, typing, assisting with mailings, photocopying, proofreading and maintaining accurate departmental files. The Assistant also responds to requests for information, inputs data into applicable systems, prepares monthly reports and materials for Board meetings, Advancement Committee Meetings and department staff meetings. The Assistant updates donor records in the donor database and serves in a back-up capacity for the generation of database reports and list exports. In addition, the Assistant works collaboratively with others on campus to further the mission of the College and the department.

Associate’s degree in an applicable discipline preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.  The successful Assistant must have prior administrative support experience, excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated success with multi-tasking and successfully handling interruptions and unexpected events are essential.   The selected candidate will be proficient with applicable computer systems and software, including Microsoft office. Head Field Hockey Coach and Recruiting Coordinator
Full Time

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Head Field Hockey Coach who will also serve as the College’s Recruiting Coordinator.  The coach will develop, recruit and administer a competitive women’s field hockey program consistent with the student-athlete philosophy of NCAA Division III athletics.   Coaches are also expected to develop, coordinate and manage an active recruitment and retention program for field hockey student athletes. 

The Recruiting Coordinator monitors recruiting efforts of the athletic department and serves as the direct liaison with the Office of Admissions.  Activities such as overnight visits and traditional visits are coordinated through this position as is athletics staff representation at all admissions day events on campus including Junior Preview Days, Open Houses and orientations.

A Bachelor's degree and prior experience coaching field hockey at the college level is required. Candidates must also have demonstrated success at effectively recruiting and retaining student-athletes.   Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills are essential.  CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are also required.

Accounting Assistant

Cedar Crest College is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant.  Duties include maintaining the College’s general ledger and accounting records, grant accounting, preparation of account reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will assist with student payments, daily receipts, and daily cash reconciliations as well as prepare journal entries for month end and year end close and other accounting duties.  The candidate will also be responsible for banking functions, such as performing bank reconciliations, wire transfers, and other daily activities.

The School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE) at Cedar Crest College seeks a results-oriented, energetic, full-time Admissions Counselor with a commitment to providing quality service for adult learners. Web Application Developer/Analyst

Cedar Crest College is seeking a customer focused Web Application Developer/Analyst to provide application development and integration with campus databases delivered via the web.  The Web Developer/Analyst is also responsible for extensive data analysis, collaborating with constituents across campus and for providing solutions to resolve problems and enhance processes.

Nursing Learning Resource Center Technician  

Cedar Crest College is seeking a Technician to assist in our Nursing Learning Resource Center (NLRC)!  Our Nursing Learning Resource Center is one of the best-equipped in the region, with three state-of-the-art multimedia labs, highly specialized simulation manikins, a community health lab that replicates a home environment and two simulation centers with streaming video.  The NLRC Technician will facilitate student and faculty usage of the nursing labs and simulation center and assist with the daily operations, including preparation and maintenance of facilities and equipment.  The Technician will also assist with technologies and resources housed in and/or utilized within the program.

Aquatic Specialist – Fitness Instructor/Lifeguard
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)

The Rodale Aquatic Center, located on the campus of Cedar Crest College, is seeking a qualified full time, certified fitness instructor who will also serve as a lifeguard.  This position will develop, organize and instruct water based fitness programs and instructors, schedule and provide direction to instructors and otherwise assist in assuring the overall safety of the Center. 

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (recreation, sports management, etc.) preferred, current certification in aquatic exercise or other fitness/aquatic based or personal training strongly preferred.  CPR, AED and First Aid certification required; lifeguard certification preferred.  Prior experience in an aquatic facility with fitness classes and familiarity with Aquatic Exercise Association or other aquatic fitness training affiliations desirable.  Exceptional time management, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.  Qualified candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends while the Center is operational.

ASSOCIATE PROVOST

Cedar Crest College is seeking an Associate Provost to provide leadership and oversight for the assessment of student learning and college services, including the coordination of annual assessments and Periodic Program Review for academic departments and offices of student support and college administration. While monitoring compliance with regional accreditation standards and federal and state regulations, the Associate Provost serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer, co-chairs the Assessment Committee and the Compliance Committee, and oversees the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research. The Associate Provost conducts ad hoc strategic analyses, college-wide initiatives, and other duties of the Office of the Provost as needed.

CAMPUS POLICE
Two Full Time Positions

Cedar Crest College has two excellent opportunities for experienced law enforcement professionals to join our campus police team!  The College’s commissioned officers provide for the safety and welfare of the entire campus community, including our residential housing, on a 24 hour basis, 7 days a week.  Basic duties include patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws, policies and regulations, investigating crimes and accidents, responding to emergencies or other calls for service, preparing reports and providing safety education.  Openings include:

  • Full-time Corporal: Middle shift (4 pm – Midnight)
  • Full-time Officer:  Middle or night shift availability required

A degree in criminal justice and/or prior experience in law enforcement (Act 120), preferably in a higher educational setting is required.  Act 235 certification is also required. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to campus community interaction and safety education.   Both positions require a background check, including criminal history, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.

Part Time Dispatcher/Switchboard
Campus Police

Do you have prior dispatch/switchboard experience with an interest in law enforcement? If so, consider the opportunity to join our team to answer and redirect calls, monitor radio and surveillance systems, monitor alarm systems, dispatch officers, contact appropriate off-campus emergency response personnel as necessary, maintain confidentiality and other duties to keep our campus and students safe. The successful candidate will have prior experience in dispatch/switchboard operations or law enforcement coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and function well in stressful situations. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Position requires a background check, including criminal history, child abuse clearance, drug screening and a psychological evaluation. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling and may be required to work various shifts and weekends, based upon staffing needs.

LIFEGUARDS
Rodale Aquatic Center (RAC)
at Cedar Crest College

Our pleasant and unique Aquatic Center is seeking qualified lifeguards for our busy facility dedicated to fostering civic health and wellness in the community. The Aquatic Center is open 7 days a week, year round from 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

Lifeguards typically work four hour shifts and the Center can be flexible with scheduling, depending on availability. The typical work week is 15 – 20 hours total. Opportunities are available during the following part time shifts:

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Sundays 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Lifeguarding and CPR certifications are required to work at the Center. Guards with experience teaching swim lessons or the willingness to learn to instruct lessons preferred.
