New Students at Orientation

Welcome to the Cedar Crest College community! It's an exciting time to be at the Crest. Everyone here at the College has a vested interest in you making a successful academic, educational, and social transition to our wonderful, close knit community. This site provides helpful links about upcoming mandatory activities as well as information about various services that are available to you. An on-campus orientation is required for all new students attending Cedar Crest  College. We find that our most successful students are those who are best informed. That's why we believe that our new student orientation program is so important.

During orientation you'll learn about:

Over the next few weeks there are a number of things that will need to be done to ensure that you have a smooth transition. We would like to offer two pieces of advice: Adhere to all deadlines and ask questions if you are unsure. We promise that this will make your life so much easier. Note that there are some activities that are only for incoming first-year students, others just for incoming transfer students, and information that is for all new students.

Check this site (and your email) often for updated information. If you have any questions, please contact us at or 610-606-4680.

Please make a copy of your health forms for your personal records.

On Campus Housing and Meal Plan Application

Planning to live on campus? When you submitted your $200 enrollment deposit, part of it was your housing deposit. You must now complete your housing and meal plan application so that we can begin the assignment process. If you did not originally include your housing deposit with your enrollment deposit, but want to live on campus, that’s okay! Complete the application and we’ll take care of the rest.

To complete the housing application, log onto MyCedarCrest, click on the Student Affairs tab at the top and then the New Student Information link on the left. For more information about living on campus and our Residence Life Office, click here.

Commuter Life and Meal Plans

Commuters are important and active members of the Cedar Crest College community. Even though you will not be living on campus, it can still be your "home away from home." In the Tompkins College Center there is a lounge just for commuters, complete with a kitchen. Our Commuter Activities Board (C.A.B.) plans great events, often in conjunction with other organizations. There is a lot available to make sure that you are as connected as possible during your time at Cedar Crest. To learn more about commuter life and what's available, visit our Student Life website.

Cedar Crest offers great meal plan options for commuter students. Enjoy "all you care to eat" at the dining hall or a la carte at our Falcon's Nest. Meal plan benefits include enjoying additional "Falcon Dollars," not to mention not having to worry about pulling out cash or a credit card when you are on campus and want a bite. The meal plan makes it easier to get together with friends on campus or have dinner with a study group. For more information about the meal plans that are available, click here.

To request a meal plan, log onto MyCedarCrest, click on the Student Affairs tab at the top and then the New Student Information link on the left.

Financial Aid (Student Aid, Scholarships, Term Bill, etc.)

Do you have questions about your financial aid award, scholarship, term bill, etc? Looking for a financial aid form that you need to fill out? Many of the answers to your questions can be found on MyCedarCrest. You don't even have to log in to access it! Look for the Student Financial Services link on the left.

Parking on Campus

At Cedar Crest College there is no fee for students to park on campus. Vehicles must, however, be registered and parked in designated spaces on campus. For more information about how to register your car and where to park, click here.

At Cedar Crest, we believe the success of each student is due to a partnership with the student, College, and family. That is why it is important for you to know about FERPA. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal privacy law that gives parents certain protections with regard to their children's education records, such as report cards, transcripts, disciplinary records, contact and family information, and class schedules. Both students and parents should become familiar with FERPA. For more information, log onto MyCedarCrest, click on the Student Affairs tab at the top and then the New Student Information link on the left. In the FERPA section you will see additional information about what FERPA is and how it pertains to both students and guardians. In addition, it allows students to complete a form which dictates what specific information s/he would like to have shared and to whom s/he would like to share. Students can change this at any time.
