WALLOWER PACES CEDAR CREST TO 85-47 WIN OVER VALLEY FORGE CHRISTIAN IN NON-LEAGUE ACTION
Allentown, PA (December 7, 2007) – Freshman Leann Wallower posted a career-high 19 points and made six steals to lead the Cedar Crest basketball team to a convincing 85-47 win over visiting Valley Forge Christian College in non-league action on Friday evening in Lees Gymnasium.
The Falcons took an immediate 11-0 lead on back-to-back layups by freshman Keri Lasky at the 18:02 mark in the first half and never looked back.
Sophomore Kelly Oakes hit a jumper with 3:51 remaining in the first half to put Cedar Crest up, 42-22. The Falcons headed into the locker room with a 48-28 lead.
The Falcons took over where they left off in the second half of play, posting a 75-39 lead with 6:10 left to play.
Freshman Kelley Cipriani finished the scoring for Cedar Crest nailing a jumper with 1:19 left to play, giving the Falcons the 85-47 victory.
Oakes had a complete game hitting for 18 points, 13 boards, and six assists. Lasky added 14 points and four assists, while freshman Lauren Seale added 12 points and four steals. Junior Sarah Campbell notched nine points and six boards in the win.
Amanda Parr paced Valley Forge with 19 points and six rebounds.
Cedar Crest improves to 3-5 on the season, while Valley Forge falls to 4-7. The Falcons will host Davis College on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in Lees Gymnasium.
