LASKY SCORES GAME-HIGH 20 POINTS IN LOSS TO BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE

Allentown, PA (January 8, 2008) – Freshman Keri Lasky posted a game-high 20 points, but it would not be enough as Baptist Bible College defeated Cedar Crest College, 71-55, in non-league action on Tuesday evening in Lees Gymnasium.

Baptist Bible took the early advantage, holding a 13-10 lead with 11:35 remaining in the first half on a made layup by Liz Bole, who had a team-high 18 points on the night.

Sophomore Kelly Oakes then hit back-to-back free throws and made a layup to help the Falcons take an 18-13 lead with 7:45 left in the half.  Cedar Crest took a 35-29 lead going into halftime off of a final layup with 28 seconds remaining by freshman Kelley Cipriani.

The Falcons went ahead, 42-35, with 15:27 remaining in the contest before three turnovers and two missed shots by Cedar Crest opened the door for Baptist Bible to take a 46-44 lead at the 10:56 mark.

Baptist Bible never looked back, going up by 22 with 3:17 remaining on a made layup by Boyle.

Oakes posted eight points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and five assists, while freshman Leann Wallower added 13 points, nine boards, and six steals.  Cipriani added seven points and six rebounds.

The Falcons fall to 4-6 on the season, while Baptist Bible improves to 6-3. Cedar Crest will return to action when they host Pennsylvania Athletic Conference rival the College of Notre Dame on Saturday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. in Lees Gymnasium.
