CEDAR CREST FALLS TO MISERICORDIA IN PAC ACTION
Allentown, PA (January 24, 2008) – Lacey DeGraw hit a game-high 26 points to lead Misericordia University to a 67-47 victory over Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening in Lees Gymnasium.
The Cougars went on a 12-0 run to open the contest, but Cedar Crest continued to chip away, bringing the Falcons within one on a jumper by sophomore Kelly Oakes at the 4:25 mark. Misericordia went on a 6-2 run to close out the first half, ending with a 21-16 lead.
Cedar Crest battled for the first five minutes of the second half, but the Cougars found their rhythm and went on an 18-4 run until the 9:49 mark.
Freshman Leann Wallower, the PAC Honorable Mention and Cedar Crest Athlete of the Week, led the Falcons with 15 points and four steals. Oakes posted 14 points, seven boards, three steals, three blocks, and three assists, while junior Sarah Campbell added a game-high 10 boards on the night.
Amy Hughes added 15 points for Misericordia.
The Falcons fall to 4-12 overall (0-9 PAC) on the season, while Misericordia University improves to 10-5 overall (6-1 PAC).
Cedar Crest will return to action when they travel to Pennsylvania Athletic Conference rival Gwynedd-Mercy College onMonday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m.
