GWYNEDD-MERCY REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN PAC ACTION WITH WIN OVER CEDAR CREST

Gwynedd Valley, PA (January 28, 2008) – Kristy Cramp hit a game-high 16 points to lead Gwynedd-Mercy College to a 93-52 victory over Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Monday evening at the Griffin Complex.

The first 10 minutes of the contest saw the score tied five times and four lead changes, before the Griffins’ took a 17-14 lead on back-to-back free throws made by Ashley Duffy at the 10:21 mark. 

Cedar Crest’s Kelley Cipriani nailed a jumper with 3:21 remaining in the first half to cut Gwynedd’s lead to 27-26.  The Griffins’ then went on a 9-2 run over the final three minutes to take a 38-28 halftime lead.

Gwynedd controlled the second half, going on a 26-4 run over a seven minute period.   

Sophomore Kelly Oakes led the Falcons with her 11th double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 boards, while freshman Lauren Seale hit a season-high four-three’s for 12 points.  Cipriani and junior Sarah Campbell each posted 10 points. 

The Falcons fall to 4-13 overall (0-10 PAC) on the season, while Gwynedd-Mercy College improves to 13-4 overall (8-0 PAC).

Cedar Crest will return to action when they travel to Penn State Hazelton on Thursday, January 31 at 6:00 p.m. in non-conference action
