CAMPBELL HAS A BREAKOUT GAME, WALLOWER CONTINUES TO IMPRESS IN A
ROAD LOSS TO ALVERNIA
Reading, PA (February 4, 2008) – Both
Sarah Campbell and Leann Wallower posted double-doubles in
a loss at Alvernia on Monday evening. Wallower led all
scorers with 24 pts along with 10 rebounds, while Campbell
had 17 pts and led all rebounders with 12 in the 83-55
loss.
Poor shooting by both teams kept it close early on,
until a 16-0 run by the Crusaders broke the game open.
Alvernia's stifling defense forced 30 turnovers on the
night which led to 25 points. On the positive side for the
Falcons, Cedar Crest out-rebounded the Crusaders 39-34.
Cedar Crest sophomore Kelly Oakes had nine rebounds and
five points, two assists, a block and a steal. Alexandra
Velazquez led the Crusaders with 14 points and four rebounds.
The Falcons fell to 5-14 overall (0-10 PAC) on the season.
Cedar Crest will return to action when they host
Rosemont College on Thursday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Pennsylvania
Athletic Conference action.
