ROSEMONT NARROWLY PULLS OUT WIN OVER CEDAR CREST IN FINAL SECONDS

Allentown, PA (February 7, 2008) – Freshman Leann Wallower posted a game-high 22 points, but it would not be enough as Cedar Crest College fell, 67-64, to Rosemont College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening in Lees Gymnasium. 

The Falcons controlled the first half, going up 29-19, at the 7:14 mark on a jumper by freshman Kelley Cipriani.  Rosemont then took a 34-33 lead with 3:14 remaining in the first half on a three-pointer by Andrea Boyle.  Cedar Crest battled back on a jumper by Wallower and back-to-back free throws by junior Sarah Campbell to take the 41-36 halftime lead. 

Cedar Crest maintained the lead for the entire game until the 7:36 mark late in the second half when Rosemont’s Boyle nailed a three-pointer to give the Ramblers the 59-56 lead.  Cedar Crest cut Rosemont’s lead to one point three times over the final five minutes of the contest, but missed a last second desperation shot to end the game. 

Campbell notched her third-straight double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, while Cipriani added 14 points and eight boards.  Sophomore Kelly Oakes posted 10 rebounds and nine assists in the loss, while freshman Lauren Seale added eight points and nine rebounds. 

Adriann Demchenko posted a team-high 21 points for Rosemont. 

The Falcons fall to 5-15 overall (0-12 PAC) on the season, while Rosemont College improves to 7-12 overall (3-8 PAC).

Cedar Crest will return to action when they travel to Immaculata University on Saturday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. in PAC action.
