WALLOWER EXPLODES FOR 23 POINTS TO LEAD CEDAR
CREST OVER IMMACULATA IN PAC ACTION
Immaculata, PA (February 9, 2008) –
Despite trailing by eight at the half, Cedar Crest held
the Mighty Macs to just 15 points in the second half en
route to a 57-45 win in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
action on Saturday afternoon in Alumnae Hall. Freshman
Leann Wallower posted a double-double with 23 points and
12 rebounds to lead all scorers.
After trailing by as many as 10 in the
first half, Cedar Crest took the lead for good just over
six minutes into the second half during an 18-2 run. Sophomore Kelly Oakes posted her 12th
double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high
17 rebounds. She also added a game-high five assists. Junior Sarah Campbell had a career-game
with 16 points and five rebounds, while freshman Kelley
Cipriani grabbed six boards.
Uncharacteristically, Cedar Crest was
outrebounded by the Macs but led in points off turnovers
by a 17-0 margin. Stephanie Stripe led Immaculata with 15
points.
The Falcons improve to 6-15 overall
(1-12 PAC) on the season, while Immaculata University
falls to 4-17 overall (2-10 PAC).
Cedar Crest will return to action when
they host Penn State Berks on Monday, February 11 at 7:00
p.m.
