FIELD HOCKEY DROPS 2-1 LOSS TO WILSON COLLEGE
Chambersburg, PA (September 6, 2007) – Sophomore Brittany Fikes scored late in the second half, but it would not be enough as the Cedar Crest College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 loss to host Wilson College on Thursday afternoon.
Amy Newmaster scored off of a pass from Kim Crowell just before the end of the first half to give Wilson College a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Newmaster notched her second goal of the contest on an unassisted tally just 2:35 into the start of the second half to put Wilson up, 2-0.
Fikes cut the lead, 2-1, at the 14:22 mark of the second half off of a penalty corner, but it would not be enough for the Falcons.
Sophomore Rachel Orlen stopped 15 shots in the cage for Cedar Crest.
The Falcons, who fall to 0-3 on the season, will be back in action on Saturday, September 8 when they travel to PennsylvaniaAthletic Conference foe, the College of Notre Dame for a 1:00 p.m. contest. Wilson College improves to 2-0 with the victory.
