PAC RELEASES WOMEN’S SOCCER POLL

Aston, PA (August 30, 2007) – Eastern University's women's soccer team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches’ poll released on Thursday. The Eagles received seven of eleven first-place votes and earned a total of 117 points in the poll.

Misericordia University finished second in the poll with two first-place votes and 109 points.  Cabrini College was selected third with 101 points and two first-place votes.

Gwynedd-Mercy College was selected to finish fourth with 82 points. Marywood University (80), Centenary College (58), Alvernia College (53), College of Notre Dame (42), Neumann College (40), Immaculata University (27) and Cedar Crest College (17) rounded out the voting.

After finishing 3-14-1 overall and 0-10 in the PAC, Cedar Crest will be traveling to Penn State Abington at 1:00 pm to open its 2007 season.  Todd Ervin will step in as the new head coach for the soccer program.
